Brockwell Park remembers the First World War

charles 1 gurkha piper 1 jason 1 gurka piper 2Brockwell Park yesterday remembered the lives of those involved in the First World War, 100 years since its outbreak.

250 park users joined a free memorial service featuring war poetry recited by British actors Charles Dance and Jason Flemyng; and local actors from Sixteen Feet Productions. The event was brought to a close by a Royal Gurkha Piper as the sun set over Brockwell Park.

We thank all those that freely gave their time for this very moving event, and particularly BPCP Secretary Susy Hogarth for her vision and her drive to stage it.
