A new habitat for frogs …and other animals.

If you have been past the Tulse Hill entrance recently you will have seen dramatic changes in the enclosure near that entrance and the emergence of a watercourse that you didn’t know was there. Heroic efforts by the BPCP’s Biodiversity lead, Susy have seen this area cleared of brambles and have exposed the lowest pond of the cascade.

There are a lot of amphibians in that area of the park who usually live in undergrowth but who come to the pond to breed. Without this pond the populations will die out so restoration of the pond here is vital to preserve them.

BPCP has obtained a £2000 grant from the Mighty Hoopla Community Fund and will use this and its own resources to fund an improvement in this small enclosure, not just for amphibians but for birds and insects as well.
