Five Parks Walk raises funds for community events

A huge thank you to everyone that helped to administer and take part in today’s Five Parks Walk. Over 50 walkers enjoyed the glorious sunshine in Belair Park, Sydenham Woods, Dulwich Park, Ruskin Park and Brockwell Park. Vinnie O’Connell’s talk to those on the guided walk at the New Leaf project was most appreciated!

£280 was raised by the Walk which will support the costs of ‘MAD for Brockwell Park’ – our programme of community music, arts and drama events. We look forward to seeing you again for the 2014 Five Parks Walk. In the meantime, if any of today’s participants would like to form a more regular walking group, please get in touch: brockwellparkcommunitypartners@gmail.com

We would like to clarify that the private event in Brockwell Park today was organised by Serco for its employees, with the consent of Lambeth Council. It has nothing to do with the Five Parks Walk, Brockwell Park Community Partners or the ‘MAD’ Programme. Thank you.

Walk the Five Parks Walk and raise funds for community events!

5PW 2013The annual Five Parks Walk around South London’s leafiest parks will be held on Sunday 12th May 2013.

Starting at Brockwell Park, the walk takes you through the south London neighbourhoods of Dulwich, Sydenham, Camberwell and Herne Hill via a surprisingly green and leafy route through five parks linked by a corridor of green ways and little known woodland.

The total distance is around 7.5 miles and takes approximately 3 hours if you walk at normal pace. Alternatively, take your time and stop at any of the charming hostelries along the route.

The walk is a fundraiser to support a programme of community events to be held in Brockwell Park this summer. Tickets, including map and historical notes are £5 (adults), £3 (under 16s) under 10s free. The Walk starts by Brockwell Hall, in the centre of Brockwell Park, London SE24, from 10.00 am; a guided walk begins at 10.30 am prompt. Nearest BR station – Herne Hill, nearest tube Brixton, bus routes 3, 196, 68.
