Staff changes at Brockwell Park

lambethLambeth Council has announced a new management structure for its Parks. From 24th August 2015, Brockwell Park will no longer have a dedicated park manager but instead will be served by Clarence Riley, who has management responsibility for Brockwell Park and 10 other parks in and around the Herne Hill and Tulse Hill areas. Clarence can be contacted at: criley@lambeth.gov.uk

We look forward to working with Clarence. Lambeth has assigned the two staff previously employed at Brockwell Park – Paul Carter and Theresa Hoare – to park roles elsewhere in the borough. We thank Paul and Theresa for their service and wish them well in their future roles.

This isn’t a wind up unfortunately

Clocktower 3The Park Manager has advised us that because a water tower has been placed next to the door of the Clock Tower, its mechanism can not be wound until next Monday.

So that means that the Clock Tower, despite having been restored to working order only one year ago following years of comedic inaccuracy, will yet again display the incorrect time – just as Brockwell Park pays host to around a quarter of a million visitors at the Lambeth Country Show this weekend.

Only in Lambeth…

What we need for a friendly, safe park

DSCN0754 DSCN0751The local community turned out in force for Brockwell Dog Show 2015 on Sunday 12th July. Only months earlier the annual Show had been faced with cancellation following the unexplained withdrawal of Lambeth Officer support.

DSCN0747 DSCN0767A number of local residents were determined that the Show must go on and approached BPCP for support to make this happen. They led on the event delivery – creating fantastic new publicity posters and convening a panel of celebrity judges, while BPCP provided operational support, advice and infrastructure.
