If you are planning a small scale outdoor community, music, art or drama event in 2014 we want to hear from you.
‘MAD’ is a season of community events at Brockwell Park’s performance space (by Brockwell Hall) between May and September, and open to all sections of the local community. Events are 2 hours in length or more and we can provide public liability insurance, basic PA system and speakers, chairs, publicity in and around the Park and volunteer stewards.
You can also apply for up to £500 for performance fees, materials, refreshments and transport. The average award for afternoon events in 2013 was £320.
The fund is likely to be oversubscribed. We are looking for around 10-12 community events that are free, encourage local people’s use and enjoyment of Brockwell Park and that will take place on a Sunday afternoon between May and September next year.
If you would like to apply to be part of MAD for Brockwell Park 2014, please click here to read the guidelines and click here for the expression form
We also recommend that you discuss your event proposal with Theresa Hoare, Brockwell Park Development and Education Officer. Theresa’s email address: thoare@lambeth.gov.uk and phone number: 020 7926 6283.
The deadline for the return of final completed expressions of interest is noon on Friday 24th January 2014. The MAD Committee will shortlist the expressions soon after then and conduct follow up interviews. Successful applicants at the interview stage will be asked to submit a risk assessment and site plan to Lambeth Council and an event agreement with Brockwell Park Community Partners who administer the MAD Programme.
