BPCP is pleased to announce that the MAD Programme of music, arts and drama events is open to applications from local groups until 4pm on Friday 1st February 2013. BPCP’s Arts and Events Committee will give preference to:
- Small scale events that are genuinely open and accessible to the local community; and that increase their use and enjoyment of Brockwell Park.
- Events that take place at weekends between May and September and during Park opening hours. We expect that single performances take around 2 to 4 hours in length excluding set up time.
- Professional and non professional theatre, art and music groups from Lambeth and Southwark.
- Groups must demonstrate their experience of delivering a community music, arts and drama event in a Park or other outdoor setting.
The Programme budget for events in 2013 is around £7,500 and we aim to provide around up to 12 grants of between £100 and £2,500. Grants can support event costs such as professional fees, workshops, materials, non-alcoholic refreshments and transport costs. Events that do not require our funding are also welcome to apply to be part of the 2013 Programme. We can provide public liability insurance (assuming an audience of no more than 1,000 at any one time), hire of a PA System and speakers and help with set up.
